Raushan Singh, PhD

Founder & CEO

 

Dr. Singh is the Founder and CEO of Light‑Hope Diagnostics. Previously, he served as Principal Scientist at Co‑Diagnostics, Inc., where he contributed to platform-level assay innovation and product development. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from North Dakota State University and completed an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UMass Medical School. His training under world‑renowned RNA biologists—Dr. Victor Ambros (Nobel Prize 2024) and Dr. Craig Mello (Nobel Prize 2006)—anchors Light‑Hope’s scientific foundation in cutting‑edge RNA biology.  Dr. Singh has published 14 peer‑reviewed papers in leading journals and developed 2 anticancer drug candidates that advanced to commercial use.

Dinesh Patel, PhD

Business Advisor & Investor

 

Dr. Patel is a veteran life sciences entrepreneur and venture investor with >40 years of experience building and commercializing healthcare and biotechnology companies. He holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Michigan and co‑founded TheraTech, Inc., leading it through a successful IPO and its $350 million acquisition by Watson Pharmaceuticals (now Allergan). He later founded Patel Family Investments and was a founding partner of vSpring Capital (now Signal Peak Ventures), an early‑stage venture firm managing over $400 million. As a business advisor to Light‑Hope Diagnostics, Dr. Patel provides strategic guidance in capital formation, partnerships, and FDA‑regulated product development.

Kenneth Ward, MD

Clinical Advisor

 

Dr. Ward is an internationally recognized geneticist with 40 years of experience in medical diagnostics. Board‑certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal‑Fetal Medicine, Medical Genetics, and Molecular Genetics, he has launched >12 first‑in‑human diagnostic tests. He founded the University of Utah DNA Diagnostic Lab and the Molecular Genetics Lab at ARUP. Dr. Ward has published >100 peer‑reviewed papers, is an inventor on >50 patents, and helped develop the first consumer DNA test for Ancestry.com. He is Founder and CEO of Juneau Biosciences, where he developed a predictive DNA‑based test for endometriosis, and Co‑Founder and Lab Director of Slopes Bio, a CAP‑ and CLIA‑accredited molecular diagnostics lab.

Chris Fillmore, PhD

Scientific Advisor

 

Dr. Fillmore is the Director of the Biorepository & Molecular Pathology Core at Huntsman Cancer Institute and a Faculty member in the Department of Pathology at the University of Utah. He oversees a CAP- and CLIA‑accredited biobank containing more than one million cancer biospecimens, supporting translational and precision‑oncology research. With >20 years of experience in commercial molecular diagnostics, Dr. Fillmore has worked with DARPA, Cepheid, and Roche to develop molecular testing platforms and clinical assays used in high‑impact applications. Dr. Fillmore brings deep operational and scientific insight to Light‑Hope Diagnostics, advising on biospecimen strategy, assay validation, and clinical deployment pathways.

Varun Shankar, PhD

AI/ML Advisor

 

Dr. Shankar is an Assistant Professor in the Kahlert School of Computing at the University of Utah, where his research focuses on efficient, scalable, and provably accurate machine‑learning models for scientific, engineering, and medical applications via integration of high‑performance computing, and computational modeling. He also holds leadership roles as Associate Director of the Master of Software Development program, Associate Chair of the FinTech Center, and Director of the Scientific Computing track. Dr. Shankar holds a PhD in Scientific Computing from the University of Utah and has published >25 papers. He advises Light‑Hope Diagnostics on AI/ML strategy, model development, and scalable computational infrastructure.

Emily is the Chief Operating Officer of Light‑Hope Diagnostics. She brings 20 years of experience building financial systems and operational structure for early‑stage companies. Previously, she supported multiple startups in establishing disciplined financial practices, scalable workflows, and organizational clarity during periods of rapid growth. She is known for creating systems and processes that enable high‑performance teams to operate with confidence and accountability. Emily excels in team development, cross‑functional coordination, and building operational foundations that support long‑term scalability and execution. Her work ensures financial transparency and readiness for sustained growth.

Mike Hancock, PhD

Business Development Advisor

 

Dr. Hancock is a scientific and strategic architect with >20 years of experience across premier biotech and pharma organizations. He holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the Medical College of Wisconsin and has a distinguished track record driving the full assay‑to‑commercialization lifecycle. He currently serves as Chief Discovery Officer at Vala Sciences and previously led In Vitro Pharmacology at Recursion, where he scaled teams, optimized cross‑functional operations, and advanced partnerships that accelerated platform growth. He advises Light‑Hope Diagnostics on business development, partnering strategy, and the translation of discovery‑stage innovation into commercial‑ready products.

Jordan Toone, JD

Legal Advisor

 

Jordan is a partner at Rimon P.C., a global law firm advising clients from major corporations to early‑stage startups. He is an M&A and private equity attorney with deep experience in domestic and cross‑border deals, private equity and venture capital transactions, private offerings, joint ventures, and securities compliance. His practice spans technology sectors (blockchain, life sciences, real estate, manufacturing, and energy) and he regularly advises U.S. companies operating internationally.
